Terms and Conditions
MLD Driving School (Instructor: Mike Davies)
Driving Licence and Eyesight
The customer must hold a current, valid driving licence either provisional or full, which must be produced on or in advance of their first lesson. The customer must also check that they can read a vehicle number plate at a distance of not less than 20 metres with glasses or contact lens if normally worn.
In the event of mechanical breakdown or other difficulty outside the control of myself, MLD Driving School reserves the right to rearrange lessons at short notice.
A minimum of 24 hour notice is required to be given to MLD Driving School by the customer to cancel a lesson, and it is to my discretion as to whether the tuition fee will be charged should this notice not be given.
If I consider the weather is too severe to take a lesson the lesson may be re arranged. The decision will be based on your driving ability and how far you have progressed into the syllabus. I will also take into account any advice given by motoring affiliations.
The price paid for the driving test fee does not include the use of my car for the purpose of the test and any prior instruction. Therefore current rates will apply.
I do ask that payment is made for Pay as you Go at the start of each lesson. Payment for block bookings should be paid in full prior to the first lesson. Payment can be made by the following transactions: Online Bank Transfer/Cash/Cheque. Further details of lesson prices can be found on my prices page.
I will contact you if I am going to be later than 5minutes for your driving lesson. The time lost will be added to the end of the current lesson or at a later date lesson. If you are late for your lesson then that time will be forfeited.
Your driving lesson will be on a one to one basis. Should you wish a parent or friend to sit in on your lesson this is fine but please let me know in advance.
You will always receive the full lesson time paid for. I will be happy to start and finish your arranged lesson from different locations, providing these are agreed one week in advance, and that both are within my usual area of work.
The customer should be aware that my primary objective is to promote road safety and in doing so, I may need to take control of the vehicle. I will make every effort to instruct my customer to the highest standard but can in no way be held liable for any errors that the customer may make whilst driving and not accompanied by me either before or after a test pass.
MLD Driving School endeavor's to teach the customer the correct driving skills according to the recommended syllabus issued by the DVSA within the minimum number of lessons required. I will abide by the Voluntary Code of Practice which has been agreed between DVSA and the main bodies representing Approved Driving Instructors.
Driving Tests may only be arranged with the prior agreement of both MLD Driving School and the customer. However I will not recommend nor support a customer booking a driving test unless I consider them to be prepared, ready, and stand a good chance on the day of passing.
Any complaints are to be dealt with in accordance with the ADI Code of Practice, but in the first instance please raise any concerns with MLD Driving School. I will make all efforts to resolve the problem directly.
Deferment of lesson
MLD Driving School is at liberty at their absolute discretion to refuse to proceed with a lesson if they have reason to believe that the customer is in any way under the influence of drink or drugs, at the time of the lesson. Should the customer appear to be medically not well or be suffering from medical symptoms that could affect driving safety, I also reserve the right to defer the lesson.
MLD Driving School reserves the right to withhold the use of their vehicle for a driving test.
Customer Comfort and Safety
In the interests of comfort and safety, customers are advised to wear suitable footwear and clothing which does not restrict movement. To my discretion, I have the right to request to the customer that they change footwear should I consider the footwear not to be suitable nor safe to drive in.
